A native of Myrtle Beach, SC Dr. Lauren Stanton found a passion for caring for animals as a young child and frequently brought home stray animals.
She lived in Cary, NC for her first 15 years and was a volunteer with a local Golden Retriever Rescue. Her passion for veterinary care continued to grow over the years and she set her sights on becoming a veterinarian. She attended the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) where she was a biology major and an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. During her summers she worked as a zookeeper, was involved in research, and trained at a local veterinary hospital. She moved to Charlotte, NC for a gap year after undergrad during which she worked as a veterinary oncology assistant and explored the city with her now fiancé. She attended Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in the Class of 2022.
After graduation, Dr. Stanton moved back to Charlotte, NC, and got engaged to her husband who she met during her time at USC. They have a female orange tabby named Flick, who loves cuddling and playing with anything she can find. While away from work, Dr. Stanton enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with friends. Her family spends a lot of time traveling, going out on the lake, and doing outdoor activities.
Her special interests in veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and building relationships with pets and their families.
