Serving Concord, NC, and Cabarrus County since 1958
Foster Animal Hospital offers full-service veterinary care with special interests in canine and feline medicine and surgery. We believe preventive health care is the best way to enhance your pet’s longevity and vitality.
A Family Tradition of Veterinary Service
Foster Animal Hospital, P.A. was established in 1958 when Dr. Tom Foster purchased the practice from Dr. L.H. Austin. At that time, Foster Animal Hospital was a mixed animal practice. Cabarrus County was still very rural and had many beef, dairy, horse, and swine farms. Dr. Steve Foster purchased the practice from his father in 1990. We remained a mixed practice until 1996, when we transitioned to seeing only small animals. Dr. Mark Plott became an owner in 1998. As Cabarrus County has grown, so has Foster Animal Hospital. On February 14, 2008, we opened a second clinic location, Foster Animal Clinic at Parkway Commons.

Giving Back to the Community
We appreciate this community that has supported and helped us grow through the years, and we enjoy giving back in return. Foster Animal Hospital actively supports the Explorer Scouts program, teaching high school students about veterinary medicine topics and having them job shadow team members. We routinely participate in and sponsor local fundraisers benefiting both people and animals, such as Dogs’ Day Out which helps the Concord Youth Council. One of our favorite activities over the past few years has been collecting and donating stuffed animals to a local hospital with our Christmas Buddies program. Our team has a heart for animals as well as our neighbors.
