Pet Insurance

Pet insurance can help owners manage the cost of veterinary care and be prepared for unexpected expenses. We offer information on pet insurance and providers, including:

Dear Dr. Foster & Staff:

I am writing you to promote our pet insurance plan. In 2010 we adopted a black lab/pitt mix (Reisling) & decided to enroll her in a pet insurance policy, and I can honestly say we are very glad we did. She is a very active, energetic & curious pup. Last year, 2011, we found her in the yard with a dead rabbit. The rabbit had ingested some rat poison. Of course this happened on a Sunday, so we took her to the Emergency vet & she also had the rat poison in her. After some treatment there, we then had a follow-up visit at Foster’s. This was a $280+ bill. Then just a few weeks ago she was not putting pressure on her left hind leg. Brought her into Foster Animal Hospital & she had torn her Cruciate Ligament (ACL) — Surgery was performed & she is healing well. This was $1500+ bill.

Since we had the pet insurance policy for Reisling thru Pet Plan (www.gopetplan.com (866) 467–3875) each of these incidents only cost us our deductible of $100.00 — We paid up front (of course) & then submitted the invoices with Dr’s notes via fax. We received payment for our claims very quickly (max of 2 weeks). This company (Pet Plan) is great to work with. They have a very user friendly website & several policy options (Coverage Plans, Deductibles, etc.). They also have a spot on their site for veterinarian’s to get more info about the plans offered so you can promote it to your pet owners.

Pet Insurance is definitely something I will have for all my animals in the future. I will recommend it to any & all pet owners I know — It is well worth it.

Thanks for all the care you have given our animals!

Jennifer & Chris B.
